Throughout his long and respected career, Mediate has earned admiration for his smooth swing, grit, and unwavering sportsmanship. A six-time PGA Tour winner and perennial fan favorite, he is perhaps best known for his unforgettable showdown with Tiger Woods at the 2008 U.S. Open—narrowly losing in sudden death after an 18-hole playoff—that became one of the most dramatic duels in major championship history and cemented Mediate’s place in golf lore.
