Agostino Ortica della Porta's Italian translation was first printed in 1517.


8vo (160 x 103 mm). Italic text, 30 lines plus headline. collation: A10 B-Z8 AA-HH8 II10: 260 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on title-page and final verso, two double-page maps of Spain and Gaul, five plates, final blank with early manuscript notations. (Wormhole, faint dampstaining to lower margin.)


binding: Later vellum over boards (163 x 107 mm), smooth spine with border of gilt dots framing gilt-lettered title in upper compartment, and gilt fish scale pattern in the lower, edges speckled red. (Slight soiling.)
