Sotheby’s is proud to present these Scottie Pippen warmup pants, worn during the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

The 1992 Olympics marked the first time NBA players competed in the Games, a moment that changed basketball around the world. The Dream Team’s dominance in Barcelona set a new standard for international competition and elevated the global profile of the sport.

Head coach Chuck Daly, reflecting on the attention the team received, said, “It was like Elvis and the Beatles put together. Traveling with the Dream Team was like traveling with 12 rock stars. That's all I can compare it to.”

Pippen was at the center of that transformation. At the peak of his career, he was recognized as one of the game’s most complete players, contributing defense, playmaking, and leadership. The 1992 United States Men’s Olympic Basketball Team is widely regarded as the most influential group of players in sports history. Collectively, its members earned 23 NBA titles, 15 MVP awards, and 117 All-Star selections.

The Dream Team won all eight of its games in Barcelona by an average of more than 40 points, capturing the gold medal with authority and leaving a lasting mark on international basketball.

These warmup pants come directly from the Collection of Scottie Pippen.
