Datable around 1738–40, this relatively rare view by Bernardo Canal is based on an engraving published in 1720 in Domenico Lovisa's Il Gran Teatro della Pitture e della Prospettive di Venezia. Another version of this composition, with slight variations in the boats and staffage, sold at Hampel in 2023 for €181,000.1 A third version sold at Dorotheum in 2022 for €76,656.2
