the first, a gold-mounted tortoiseshell piqué egg pendant, Naples, circa 1760, decorated with floral foliage, butterflies and scrolling borders in piqué posé around piqué point scalework, gold suspension loop, the formerly independent cover now pinned shut, without suspension loop 5.2cm., 2 in. high;
the second, a gold, hardstone and coral seal pendant in the shape of an oil lamp, possibly Trapani, mid-18th century, the lid mounted with a carved coral figure of Bacchus with a gold chain, the aperture decorated with filigree scrolls, the spout formed of a carved coral gryphon's head holding the suspension loop for the connecting chain, scrolling handle, plain circular carnelian matrix, 3 cm., 1 ⅛ in. high, 4.5cm., 1 ¾ in. wide
