Held at the historic Old Course at St Andrews, the 2010 Open Championship marked the defining moment of Oosthuizen’s career, as the South African claimed his first and only major title with remarkable poise and precision.

Across four days on golf’s most iconic links, Oosthuizen delivered a performance of exceptional control and consistency, mastering the shifting winds and strategic challenges of St Andrews. He finished with a score of 272 (–16), securing a dominant seven-stroke victory over runner-up Lee Westwood, one of the largest winning margins in modern Open history.
