Description

Personality 100 Proof

Distilled in Fall 1917, bottled in Fall 1932, ullage: mid shoulder

Very little is known about Personality Bourbon, which is part of this bottle’s appeal. It was owned by the American Medicinal Spirits Co., a Prohibition-era firm that bought up defunct distilleries and stocks of aging whiskey, then used its medicinal-whiskey license to bottle them for sale. Often the company used existing labels to market its products, but sometimes it also created new ones, which is likely the case with Personality. The whiskey itself was distilled in the fall of 1917 by the Allen-Bradley Distillery Co., part of a once-massive distilling and warehouse complex on the east side of Louisville. The whiskey was bottled in the fall of 1932, just before the end of Prohibition.
