A group of three blanc de Chine seated figures of ladies, 20th century

Freddie had an extensive collection of these blanc de chine figures, some of which were mounted as lamps (also see lots 531-534). There is a long tradition in producing such ware and these figures were not only highly prized in China but Europe, too. The Blanc de Chine kilns of Dehua in Quanzhou, Fujian, produced work for domestic and export markets from the Ming (1368-1644) through to the Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
