Bound at the front is a two-leaf printed pamphlet, Arrest du Conseil d'Estat du Roy, appointing Sieur Proust de Chambourg as professor of law at the University of Orléans, dated 18 July 1722.


This is the second Colombel edition; another edition had been printed by Commelin in Heidelberg in 1595.


8vo (163 x 102 mm). Roman and Greek type, 33 lines plus headline. collation: a8 A-Z8 Aa-Gg8 Hh4: 252 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on title-page, woodcut initials and headpieces. (First quire cut close at head and with slight staining at head.)


binding: Eighteenth-century French smooth calf (168 x 109 mm), spine gilt with an armorial and small star stamps in each compartment, gilt edges. (Ends of spine and joints repaired.)
