Domenico Basa worked with Paolo Manuzio and Aldo the younger; at the time of printing, Aldo and Domenico were working together at the Vatican Press. The preface is addressed by Aldo to Angelo Rocca, head of the Vatican printing office and future founder of the Biblioteca Angelica.
