A large book-style case made out of a book binding. French, early eighteenth century, or later
Folio size (515 x 360 x 75mm.), made from a contemporary red morocco binding for volume one of Albertus Seba’s Locupletissimi rerum naturalium thesauri accurata descriptio, monogram gilt of Louis XIV on cover, spine gilt, gilt edges, interior lined with marbled paper
The Louis XIV monogram does not seem to correspond with those in Olivier, and it is possible that this was added later.
