A Meissen Kakiemon Tankard, with Silver-Gilt Mounts, Circa 1735, The Contemporary Mounts German


painted with a blue crane in flight among branches of Kakiemon flowers and a red crane beside a bamboo fence, the rims with Kakiemon bands of trailing branches in iron-red reserving flowerheads, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to edge of base, the mounts unmarked possibly Dresden, the hinged cover engraved with initials M E G, over date 1736
