An Egyptian Sandstone Ushabti

18th/early 19th Dynasty, circa 1540-1280 B.C.


inscribed for the soldier Nehy, holding the hoe, pick, and seed-sack and wearing a long tripartite wig, his face with finely carved mouth rounded at the corners, and arched eyebrows in relief, five lines of inscription in front.

Height 23.5 cm.
