An Egyptian Limestone Votive Relief or Sculptor’s Model
early Ptolemaic Period, circa 305-200 B.C.
carved in high relief with the head of a king, probably Ptolemy II Philadelphos or his successor Ptolemy III Euergetes, facing right and wearing the nemes-headcloth with uraeus, his idealized face with outlined lips, finely shaped philtrum, and almond-shaped eye with tapering eyebrow and cosmetic line, the surface left slightly unfinished.
