Mississippi Burning (1988) Poster, US, Signed by Alan Parker (director)
Unframed: 41 x 27 in. (104 x 69 cm)
Mr. Sohal met Alan Parker at the BFI, London at a retrospective of his films. As a child Mr. Sohal loved the film Fame, and would sing the song Fame - Remember my Name, I'm gonna live forever, I'm gonna learn how to fly (HIGH)!
It is rare for anyone to have an original poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs, and video/DVD sleeves.
This biographical thriller was directed by Alan Parker. The cast includes Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe. The film is broadly based on the murder investigation of Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner in Mississippi in 1964. Three civil rights workers, two Jewish and one Black go missing whilst trying to organize a voter registry for African Americans. The FBI sends two agents with completely different styles, Alan Ward (Dafoe) and Rupert Anderson (Hackman) to investigate. However, the town's residents, police, and the Ku Klux Klan are opposed to the investigation.
