Description
Born on the Fourth of July (1989) Poster, US, Signed by Oliver Stone (director)
Unframed: 41 x 27 in. (104 x 69 cm)
Mr. Sohal met Oliver Stone at a book signing of The Untold History of the United States at Senate House, University of London.
It is rare for anyone to have an original poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs, and video/DVD sleeves.
This biographical war film was directed by Oliver Stone and was the second in his trilogy of films about the Vietnam War (Platoon, 1986 and Heaven & Earth, 1993). It was written by Stone and Ron Kovic and was based on Kovic's 1976 memoir. The film stars Tom Cruise (who plays Kovic), Kyra Sedgwick, Raymond J. Barry, Jerry Levine, Frank Whaley, and Willem Dafoe. The film tells the story of Kovic's life over a twenty-year span, from childhood, military service in the US Marine Corps, the Vietnam War, where he was shot several times, which left him paralyzed, and as an anti-war activist.
