A Roman Marble Herm Bust of the Young Dionsyos

circa 2nd Century A.D.


his hair bound in a broad fillet passing across the forehead, tied in a chignon at the back, falling in long strands over the shoulders and on the nape of neck, and surmounted by a scarf or veil, a long curl escaping before each ear; restorations in wax.

Height 47 cm.

said to have been found at Neffiès, Hérault, France in the 19th Century
