The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. London: George Newnes, Limited: 1892. First edition with "violent" for "violet" on p. 317, half-title. Publisher's light blue cloth over beveled boards, cover and spine blocked and lettered in gilt and black, patterned endpapers, edges gilt. Housed in a felt-lined blue buckram clamshell. — The Hound of the Baskervilles. New York: McClure, Philips Company, 1902.First American edition, with "Published March, 1902, R" on the copyright page, title printed in black and orange, 8 pp. ads at rear. Later red morocco gilt, original publisher's white-lettered red cloth laid down on front paste down.  

Together 2 volumes, 8vo. Illustrations by Sydney Paget; ink annotation to page 2 of Adventures, lightly rubbed with some minor staining, spine lightly sunned, The Hound lightly toned.
