A Victorian Silver-Gilt Mounted Cut-Glass Claret Jug, Charles Edwards, London, 1891
the ovoid body cut with panels of diamond and sprays of foliage, plain foot with scalloped edge, the rococo revival mount at the neck shaped to fit the glass cutting and chased with foliage and shells, crested reserve, urn finial, multiple-scroll handle with fruit pendant, plain foot rim held on by trefoils, fully marked right of handle, part marked elsewhere

Charles Eldridge were a firm of manufacturing silversmiths established in 1865; in 1874 they registered the design for a "neck mount with lid and handle for a wine bottle." Their work was distributed through many different retailers.
