Tourmaline var. Elbaite

While red tourmalines are always impressive to behold, those from the famous Coronel Murta mines are particularly breathtaking. This remarkably gemmy crystal of elbaite tourmaline displays fantastic color zoning from bottom to top, changing from purple to peach to clear and capped with more than an inch of shimmering cherry red tourmaline. It is quite rare to find crystals of this size that display as much clarity, transparency, and color variation as this one does. A truly impressive and well-rounded mineral specimen with a fascinating termination from the mines of Coronel Murta.
