Wulfenite

In the pantheon of classic mineral specimens from Mexico, few are as prominent or as prized as the wulfenites from Erupción Mine (also known as Ahumada Mine). This specimen packs a lot of visual interest into a relatively small package, with dozens of lustrous, damage-free, butterscotch-colored wulfenite crystals resting on a gorgeous descloizite-covered matrix with layers of stark white calcite. The varied orientations of the wulfenite tabs add to the appeal of the piece, drawing the eyes across the display face in order to take in the front and sides of each crystal.
