The mandala depicts the five protector goddesses, with yellow Mahapratisara, guardian against sin and disease at the centre; white Mahasahasrapramardi, guardian against demons, below; green Mahamayuri, guardian against snakes, to the right; blue Mahamantranusarini, guardian against sickness to the left; and red Mahasitavati, guardian against wild animals and insects, above.
