all cartouche-shaped, the lid of the first decorated with silver strapwork resembling a scallop shell, alternating with classical figures, the one of Eve in the centre, tapering bombé sides, silver motif to base, chased silver hinge, 8.3 cm., 3 1/4 in. wide.;

the second decorated with a classical mask within silver strapwork and scrolls above scroll-framed cartouches with reclining putti, within stylised tulip and scroll borders, silver mounts, 8 cm., 3 1/8 in. wide;

the hinged lid of the the third decorated with a silver amorous couple amidst classical ruins, rocailles and vine and leaf borders, 8.1cm., 3 1/8 in. wide;

the fourth, a silver, mother of pearl inlaid tortoiseshell snuffbox, Naples, circa 1760, decorated with five commedia dell'arte figures dancing below canopies on a chessboard floor, reeded silver mounts, 7.8cm., 3 in. wide
