Acquired in India by an American diplomat Lee Stull and his wife, circa early 1970s

Lee Stull (1924 – 1997) held important positions of foreign service when posted in India, Europe, Pakistan, and the Philippines. The Stulls and Swaminathan were close friends, sometimes acquiring works directly from his studio, along with a significant collection of other artists. In March 2025, Replica Shoes ’s sold Homage to Solzhenitsyn (Triptych) (1973) by Swaminathan from the same family collection, which now stands as the world record for the artist.
