a pair with shaped gadroon rim and engraved twice with arms by

John Houle, 1817, bases with scratch weights 61 and 60=2;

a larger with shaped gadroon rim and engraved twice with arms by John Schofield, 1784, with reshaped rim, circa 1820;

one with gadroon rim with shells and foliage at intervals and engraved with arms and crest below coronet by William Fountain, 1817, with reshaped rim at a slightly later date

The arms on the pair of dishes by John Houle and the dish by John Scofield are those of Smith, Sydling St. Nicholas, Dorset, baronets.


The arms on the William Fountain dish are those of Wodehouse with Norris in pretense for John, 2nd Baron Wodehouse, 1771-1846, and his wife, Charlotte Laura, only daughter and heiress of John Norris of Witton Park and Witchingham, co. Norfolk, married in 1796. His grandson John K.G. P.C. became 1st Earl of Kimberley in 1866, held many ministerial positions including Lord Lieutenant of Ireland 1864-66.
