In 2016, dense, dark and broody on the eye. Inky and heady on the nose, full of oriental aromatics - the spice bazaar par excellence. A huge gulp of velvet-coated tannins, oozing luscious, opulent black fruit, like an alcoholic compote, with bilberries to the fore. Mouth-enveloping and impressive, stylistically totally different from the elegant, less massive 2013 - viva la diferencia! This is 'hefty', as the Brits say, a powerhouse. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
