Joseph Isaac Spadafora Whittaker (1850-1936) was a Sicilian-English ornithologist and archeologist. A member of the British Ornithologists' Union, and founder of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at Palermo, he was a keen ornithologist, recording and investigating birds throughout his career, and publishing numerous works on the subject, of which this impressive publication on the birds of Tunisia is his most notable.
