Arabic manuscript on paper, 208 leaves, written in neat naskh script in black ink, verses separated by gold roundels, surah headings in gold script on polychrome and gold illuminated panels, margins ruled in colours and gold, illuminated marginal devices, an illuminated shamsa on f.1a, three opening double-pages fully illuminated, f.1b and 2a with a list of surahs, f.2b and 3a with prayers within a central lobed panel, f.3b and 4a with a gold and polychrome frontispiece e with titles in white cursive script, f.208a with colophon, in lacquer binding with text along borders on the outer boards and within central lobed panels

(outer band) Qur’an, chapter II (al-Baqarah), verse 255 and a saying of the Prophet.
(central cartouche) Qur’an, chapter XVII (al-Isra’), verse 88 and a saying of the Prophet.
Binding, back cover:
(outer band) Qur’an, chapter XXIV (al-Nur), verse 35 and a saying of the Prophet.
(central cartouche) Qur’an, chapter XVIII (al-Kahf), verse 109 and a saying of the Prophet.
In the small pendants of the covers:
Qur’an, chapter CXII (al-Ikhlas) parts of verses 1 and 2.
Front doublure:
