A HANDSOME SET FROM THE LIBRARY OF THE EARLS OF MACCLESFIELD. Henrion had issued a work entitled Mémoires mathématiques recueillis, et dressés en faveur de la noblesse Françoise at Paris in 1613; this "seconde édition, reveue, corrigée & augmentée” was published in two volumes, the first appearing in 1623 and the second in 1627. A Traicté des logarit.mes s and Logocanon, ou regle proportionelle contained in the second volume have their own title-pages, dated 1626; these were separately issued, although retaining the continuous pagination of the original work.

The Traicté des logarit.mes s is the second work on logarithms published in France, and the first to be written by a Frenchman.
