Lunar Sample collects ion Bag constructed from plastic and aluminum, approximately 8 inches wide along the top. The dual aluminum tabs at the top assist a pressurized space suit glove with opening and closing the bag once the lunar sample has been collects ed. The final three Apollo lunar landing missions all employed the lunar rover which allowed the astronauts to explore a vastly greater area than the first three landings. Bags of this type were employed to gather and secure the greater number of samples collects ed during the three days of lunar exploration conducted on each of the last missions, Apollo 15, 16, and 17.
