An elegant pair of chairs which although recently restored by Lady Soames, there are minor losses, rubbings and wear to gilding despite both chairs having been recently re-gilt. The later upholstery is worn and stained and would benefit form cleaning or replacement according to taste. Front right leg of one chair possibly with a repaired break, the same chair with a repaired break to joint between lower rail and back support. Seat rails of one chair inspected, both pair seem solid. Old marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Elegant.
