But what is Tudorcore really and what pieces should you look for? Hereโ€™s everything you need to know!

What is Tudorcore?

Tudorcore is a trend inspired by 16th-century fashion. It first gained momentum in June when the period drama Anne Boleyn was released.

Fashion folks were all over Jodie Turner-Smithโ€™s costumes. In fact, there has been a spike of 24% in searches that include the word โ€˜tudorโ€™, according to Lyst. Reformationโ€™s โ€˜tudorโ€™ dresses are the most popular ones, getting an increase of 68% in page views.

How do you wear Tudorcore?

There are three key pieces you need in order to achieve a look that Anne Boleyn (or at least Jodie Turner-Smith) would be proud of: a square-necked piece of clothing (whether itโ€™s a top or a dress), a pearl necklace, and a padded headband.

These things are so easy to find right now, so you wonโ€™t have problems rocking the look.

There are lots of square-necked tops and dresses at different price points โ€” Reformation is a popular choice, but you can also check your favourite high street stores for more affordable options.

For the headband, Prada has cult-favourite pieces on offer and they come in different materials โ€” from nylon to terrycloth to ostrich leather. But there are a lot more inexpensive options, including ones from Free People, Urban Outfitters, and ASOS.

Pearls are making a resurgence, too. Just recently, Vivienne Westwoodโ€™s iconic pearl chokers from the โ€˜90s came back from the vaults thanks to Dua Lipa and Bella Hadid, among others. With it came lots of dupes from Missoma to ASOS, so youโ€™re going to be spoilt for choice.
