We all know that Dr. Martens knows how to do boots, but have you seen their sandals?

As someone who only ever wears chunky shoes, I’m a huge fan. There’s a huge selection, but they all have a few things in common.

Firstly, they’re all chunky as you’d expect. If you know DMs, you’ll know that that’s kinda their USP. There’s nothing dainty about anything they do, and we love them for it.

The recognisable yellow stitching appears on almost all of the sandals too, and just like the boots, they’re so durable. I bought a pair four or five years ago; they’re pretty much pristine and I wear them all the time.

As with the boots, it’s worth wearing them at home first to make sure you’re not caught out with a blister. They take a little bit of wearing in, but once you do, they’re so comfy.

Dr Martens gained popularity during the 1960s and 1970s, particularly in the punk rock scene, which saw their boots as a symbol of rebellion and anti-establishment.

But it’s not just the aesthetic that makes Dr Martens awesome—it’s the durability and comfort as well. All of their boots, loafers, and sandals are made to last, with tough leather and a sturdy sole. They’re undoubtedly an investment piece, but truly worth it.
