After countless weddings were put on hold during the pandemic, it feels like there are more happening than ever. If you’re attending as a guest, I got you — at least in the dress department.

After a long period of not being able to celebrate pretty much anything, we’re about to get into full swing again.

We have so much to catch up on, from belated birthday parties, to reorganised weddings. That’s a lot of dressing up to do. If you’ve found it hard to look forward to things in the past couple of years, you may find newfound inspiration now that gatherings are happening again. We can now definitely be part of our loved ones’ milestones.

But if you haven’t quite eased into partying and getting together yet, you might need a little bit of help getting back into the swing of things…I know I do. That’s why I’ve been scouring the Internet to find the best dresses to wear to celebrate this season.

I love reworking and rewearing old dresses too of course, but sometimes it’s worth treating yourself. A pandemic seems like a pretty good reason to.

Even if you’re only attending one wedding, nearly all of the dresses I’ve found will work for pretty much any special occasion, whether that’s the annual office party, dinner parties or just because.

One thing to note about these dresses — and, well, most dresses this year — is that they aren’t your typical autumn winter dresses.

The options are plenty too. Maje has a lovely satin dress in a gorgeous green colour, while over on the high street, Other Stories has a printed turtleneck midi dress that’s just as gorgeous but a little more affordable.
