Believe It Or Not, Capes Are Back
Time to give them a try.
Yes, you read that right. We’re seeing the return of capes.
The last time we saw them in the spotlight was when they were used in formal dresses. Remember Meghan Markle’s last few outings as a royal?

Prior to that, the last we saw ponchos and capes in the streets and on our feeds was in 2015. Among those who loved to sport these cosy outerwear pieces are Amal Clooney and Jessica Alba. Talk about a style throwback!
If you miss the look, you’ll be delighted to know that it’s slowly coming back. That’s thanks in part to Jennifer Lopez wearing a leather cape coat and Kim Kardashian showing off a feather pink cape recently.
There’s even more good news for us who want to hop back on this reemerging trend. The selection is still small right now, but I foresee it to grow right before wintertime.
Even so, the options available are already really, really good. There’s something for everyone — from the ones who are ready to jump back in to those who didn’t hop on the first wave and are just starting to get on it now.
If you’re on the lookout for something you can treat more like an investment and will wear for years to come, there’s one from Rains that’s classic yet still fun. It’s made of polyester, so it’s not as ‘stiff’ as others. It also has a hoodie — perfect for sudden drizzles.
If something that’s really easy on the pocket is what you’re searching for, there’s one from Zara that’s quilted. This helps you wear two trends in one outfit — capes and quilted outerwear.
Want to see more options? Here are all of the best capes and ponchos to get this season.
