Boxer shorts aren’t just for men they’re now one of summer’s hottest trends for women.

One of the very few good things to come out of the pandemic is comfy clothing, and while we’re officially out of lockdown in the UK, it doesn’t mean that we need to feel restricted by fashion any longer.

There’s a place for stylish and easy-to-wear pieces in our wardrobes now including boxer shorts.

If you thought they were just for the boys, think again. The trend has been sweeping my Instagram feed (and yours too, I bet), with brands including H&M, Damson Madder, ASOS, Arket and Cos launching a selection of boxer shorts this summer.

I’ve never been happier about a trending piece, as take it from me, you never knew comfort until you tried a pair of these.

I’m not talking underwear, although it goes without saying that you can wear whatever you like under your clothes.

Women’s boxers are underwear as outerwear, and many styles are offered in co-ord sets.

Team a slouchy shirt with a pair of matching relaxed shorts for the ultimate summer 2021 look, and add feminine accessories and sandals to elevate the look.

After restocks online and on ASOS, sustainable label Damson Madder’s checkerboard shirt and boxer shorts combo [main image] has now sold out. Fear not, as they’ve now gone and released terry cloth styles and a tie-dye co-ord that I’m dying to get my hands on.

Scandi label Stine Goya has a pair of floral shorts I’m obsessed with, while H&M and ASOS have plenty of affordable pairs if you want to try the trend on a budget.
