It’s hard to ignore the comeback of crochet, and why would you want to?

From bucket hats to beach-ready dresses, the technique previously popular in the ’70s seems to be taking over every inch of our wardrobes again half a century later.

But if you’re not ready (and/or willing) you wear the trend from head-to-toe, perhaps an easy way to dip your toe into it is with accessories.

Crochet bags are fast becoming a trend in their own right. Much like fisherman sandals and chunky loafers, every designer has released its own iteration of the woven accessory.

There’s the Gucci tote which is fun and has a striped raffia design with a leather logo and pompoms, perfect for beach days. Then, we have the Chloé ‘Woody’ bag, a shrunken, hand-crocheted ‘nano’ size with contrasting stripes and logo-embroidered straps for a charming bohemian finish.
