Wedding Dress Trends 2024 5 Looks That Will Be Really Big This Year

Anything but traditional.

If you’re a 2024 bride, you’re going to want to know about the wedding dress trends that are set to dominate this year. I have done my homework and rounded up all the main trends coming out of the recent autumn winter 2024 bridal showcases. What was clear is that brides are becoming more and more adventurous. We’re seeing bold designs including floral appliqués, bows, embellishment, statement sleeves, two-piece pants suits and the ultimate fun wedding dress: the mini.

My research has also shown me that wedding dresses don’t have to cost quite as much as you thought either; many high street brands have really upped their game when it comes to their bridal collections and we’re seeing more and more luxe pieces at far more affordable prices. Brides no longer have to spend a small fortune on a custom-made dress with the likes of ASOS, Coast, Rixo, Monsoon, Whistles and self-portrait offering huge collections of bang on trend pieces.

Keep scrolling for my round up of all the biggest wedding dress trends were going to see in 2024 and some inspiration from our favourite brands. Next read the key 2024 bag trends to get to know now and see the footwear trends that are going to take 2024 by storm.

Wedding Dress Trend 1: Florals

For the bride who wants to do something a little bit different, the floral trend is the one for you. There are plenty of fresh ways to get in on the trend too, from floral appliqué to create 3D floral looks to rosettes, petals, and floral prints. On the high street, I’ve found a couple of options for under £600. I love the romantic organza jacquard dress from Coast; it’s a thing of beauty and perfect for the modern bride.

Wedding Dress Trend 2: The Pants Suit

I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but not all brides need to wear a dress. There is nothing chicer than a tailored two piece on your big day. The understated white tailored two piece is a showstopper and is the perfect look for a registry office wedding.

Wedding Dress Trend 3: Bows

For the bride who loves a bow, this is the year for you. With the rise of balletcore and all things sweet and pretty we’re seeing a huge resurgence of ribbons and bows this year. While usually these are reserved for accessories alone, this year more and more designers have incorporated these into the dress itself. Serious heart eyes for the dramatic bow on the Rebecca Vallance Bridal Rosette crêpe gown.

Wedding Dress Trend 4: The Mini

For the bride who loves to show off a bit of leg: boy, have we got some good news for you! We saw Kourtney Kardashian and Sofia Richie pioneer this trend during 2023, and if its good enough for them, am I right? While Kourtney fully embraced the mini for the day, Sofia demonstrated that the mini could be a great option for the evening look when you want to be able to throw some shapes on the dancefloor and can’t quite manage the long train of a full dress. For dramatic effect pair, with a bright colour court heel.

Wedding Dress Trend 5: The Statement Sleeve

For the bride who loves a puff sleeve, wedding dresses are going one further in 2024. I adore a dramatic sleeve; the bigger, the better in my humble opinion. This trend is also very versatile in that you can even opt for a detachable sleeve, which can transform a simple dress and gives brides two looks for one. What’s not to love about that?!
