Black Friday has landed and Net-a-Porter are offering up to 50% off. The retailer stocks all the biggest and best designer brands, including Bottega Veneta, Balmain, Gucci, Loewe and many more, but I’ve narrowed down the best of the sale so you don’t have to. I’m sharing everything you need to know right here, including what to shop and how long the sale will last.
While many of these designers opt out of Black Friday, their stockists often don’t – including Net-A-Porter. This means you can get some incredible designer pieces for much cheaper than if you bought them directly from the label itself during the shopping days.
Times are tough right now, with inflation reaching 6.3% in August. Around two thirds of adults are spending less on non-essentials because of the rising cost of living, and fashion is one of them. So while Black Friday has a bad name for promoting overconsumption, investing in pieces you’ll cherish during the shopping day makes sense.

What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is an annual shopping event that occurs on the last Friday of November, the day after Thanksgiving. During Friday and often the weekend too, retailers always offer huge discounts and promotions, both in-store and online. Black Friday is widely known as a popular opportunity for shoppers to find deals and start their holiday shopping, and the name symbolises the shift from financial losses to profits for retailers due to the high sales volume during this period.
Cyber Monday then takes place the following week and this is when all the deals are exclusively online. That said, we now mainly shop online so it’s really just a continuation of Black Friday.
When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
Black Friday is on the last Friday of November each year. In 2023, that’s 24th November. Cyber Monday happens the following week, which is 27th November this year. Many sales continue throughout the fourth weekend of November too.
Is Net-A-Porter taking part?
Net-a-Porter’s Black Friday sale is now on, with up to 50% off over 10,000 designer items right now. Net-a-Porter introduced their annual sale in 2019, and it just seems to be getting better and better. In 2022 the luxury e-tailer offered 30% off thousands of items, including designer clothing, luxury accessories, beauty and home.
Don’t forget that Net-a-Porter offers free shipping on orders over £300 in case your shopping cart sits at that awkward £298 mark.
