Beyoncé’s best ever Instagram fashion moments
25 times Bey killed it on the ‘gram.
Beyoncé never ceases to amaze us with her outfits. The former Destiny’s Child star joined Instagram in 2013 and has consistently served up ridiculously good looks on the app ever since, whether from her dress-up sessions at home, red carpet events, tours or sun-soaked holidays. She certainly knows how to give us a lesson in style, so it comes as no surprise that she’s racked up over 156 million followers over the past seven years.
While 2013 feels like a lifetime ago, the star knew what she was doing on the ‘gram even then. We’ve selected 25 of her most iconic outfits that she’s shared to the social media app to give you the ultimate outfit inspo.
Beyoncé’s snaps were much more candid back in 2013 and often felt like she was just one of us, sharing what she was up to. She posted this look soon after joining the social media app when boho was in. We love her skirt and more-is-more approach to jewellery.
Remember wedge trainers? Only Bey could make this noughties trend look good. The star layers a bomber jacket over a sequin dress as she boards a private jet. Kylie who?
The following year, Beyoncé debuted a bob and continued to showcase her effortless style on the app. This patterned co-ord and heels combo is a highlight.
Bey knows exactly how to make 50s-style skirts look amazing. The star mixes prints here effortlessly and adds edge with a black leather jacket and dark lipstick. The short fringe looks so chic.
Need we say more? Beyoncé looks insane in these leather shorts and the mixed-print shirt gives the look a retro edge. The star is the only person who can get away with wearing sunglasses indoors and still looking cool too.
Who could forget the year Bey wore this naked dress to the Met Gala? The theme for the event in 2015 was China: Through the Looking Glass and the star’s Givenchy gown absolutely stole the show.
It was around this time that Bey’s Instagram started becoming much more carefully curated and her outfits unbelievably glamorous.
By this point, Bey had schooled us in 50s chic, boho and glamour, then she added preppy style to the list. The striped blazer and check peplum skirt are a risky pairing, but it works.
After the success of her Met Gala look, Bey wore another high ponytail and maroon-coloured Philipp Plein gown to a Tidal gig. The matching faux fur shawl by Georgine added to the glamour (if that’s even possible).
Bey literally had wings at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards in NYC. The mum-of-three wore a sheer sequin gown with giant feathered wings by Francesco Scognamiglio to the ceremony, later sharing this iconic snap.
This moment will go down in history as one of Beyoncé’s greatest ever on Instagram. The singer announced her pregnancy with twins Rumi and Sir Carter in 2016 with the snap, which saw her posing in underwear in front of a floral backdrop.
In 2017, Bey stepped up her Instagram game and her outfits became even more glam. This black and silver metallic striped bodycon dress is insane, but it’s the lady in the dress that makes the look.
You might think the Ivy Park designer’s outfits are just a bit of fun, but there’s meaning behind what she wears. Beyoncé wore this dress with exaggerated sleeves by French designer Stéphane Rolland in the video for Jay-Zs Family Feud, which symbolises her purity as her husband admits infidelity.
Bey wore this ensemble, which paid tribute to the Black Panther Party, to the Grammy Awards in 2018. The gorgeous cold-shoulder gown and sculptural hat are both by Nicolas Jebran, while her incredible earrings are by none other than Lorraine Schwartz.
What did we do to deserve this look? The star wore the ensemble to the Wearable Art Gala, hosted by Queen Bey’s mother and step dad, Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson. Designers Falguni and Shane Peacock custom made the gown for Bey, using Nubian warrior queen Amanishakheto as inspiration.
Jay-Z’s other half has long been a fan of leopard print. We love this head-to-toe animal print look, which Bey wore during her 2018 tour with her husband, On The Run II.
Beyoncé in a suit was not something we’d seen much of at this point, but after having children her style developed and grew. The star posted this sophisticated trouser suit and rust-coloured coat combination in 2018, giving us tailoring inspiration for years to come.
In 2018, Bey wore this Maria Escot velvet red mini-dress with matching thigh-high boots covered in pearls for an Instagram outfit pic. The star topped off an already unbelievable outfit with this Chanel handbag. We bow down.
In 2019, she showed us the white embellished blazer and mini-skirt pairing from Sergio Hudson we didn’t know we deserved. Bey wore the suit to party with her husband and Michael B Jordan in February that year.
Next up this Ankara suit, which Bey wore to exhibition DREAMWEAVERS, co-presented in Los Angeles by Swizz Beatz and UTA Artist Space. The star topped it off with the matching hat, designed by Nigerian designer EnaGancio.
Who can forget Beyoncé this Marine Serre look? The star matched the designer’s infamous half-moon leggings to the skin-tight top for a Houston Rockets game, while the designer also appeared in Bey’s video for Already on the visual album Black Is King.
Holy smokes. Beyoncé graced us with this custom-made Alexander McQueen look at the Hollywood premiere for the Lion King, in which she voiced the character of Nala. The gown, designed by Sarah Burton, was covered in dégradé crystal and gilded embellishment.
Bey made just a style statement at the London premiere for Lion King in July 2019, wearing this off-shoulder yellow gown with a super-high leg slit by Cong Tri. Wow.
Possibly our favourite ever Beyoncé look, she wore this utterly beautiful gown to Diddy’s 50th birthday party. The jaw-dropping strapless velvet gown features a slit at the leg, which starts above Bey’s hip, and unbelievable floral embellishment.
By 2020, the Flawless singer was well-versed in tailoring. She killed it at the 2020 Super Bowl in this green suit with contrast stitching from Balmain, a custom choker dubbed ‘The Diamond Equalizer’ by Messika Paris, white cat-eye sunglasses and Le Silla stilettos.
Speaking in her 2020 interview with British Vogue, Bey said, ‘During quarantine, fashion was a place of escape for me. My kids and I came up with Fashion Fridays. Every Friday, we would dress up in my clothes or make clothes together and take each other’s pictures. It became a ritual for us and an opportunity to handle this crazy year together.’
She certainly killed it with this look. Wearing a black mini-skirt and matching top with diamante buttons, Bey turned up the bling with a diamante necklace, earrings and even shades. She added a pop of colour with these hot pink velvet heels.
