Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that many of Zara’s fragrances smell distinctly similar to some of the world’s biggest designer scents. So if you want to save money while smelling like Gucci, Dior, or YSL, stick with high street brand’s fragrance collection.
These delicious-smelling perfumes retail from just £8.99, with certain scents priced slightly higher at £12.99. But when you compare these prices with those of high-end fragrances, you’ll see just how much of a bargain these really are.
And as much as I’d love to be someone who splashes out hundreds on a bottle of perfume, I’d much rather save my pennies for my wardrobe. You can find such good perfume dupes these days, it makes you wonder whether expensive scents are actually worth it.
Zara’s Golden Decade is one of the Inditex brand’s most popular perfumes. With floral and vanilla notes, it’s a crowdpleaser. You can’t go wrong with vanilla, so if you’re shopping for a gift, it’s an easy choice.

What is Zara’s Golden Decade perfume a dupe for?
Zara’s Golden Decade perfume is a dupe for YSL’s Libre Eau de Parfum. Both perfumes have similar notes of lavender, vanilla, orange blossom, jasmine and citrus, creating incredibly similar scents that smell absolutely divine. YSL’s Libre retails at £52 for the smallest bottle of 30ml, while Zara’s is a super cheap £12.99 for the same quantity. If you’re looking to save some pennies on your favourite perfume bottle, I definitely recommend checking it out.

YSL Libre is a floral perfume with notes of citrus and lavender, which work to create a feminine scent. Since launching in 2019, this fragrance has become a classic with a little help from their iconic TV advert featuring Dua Lipa. It’s an elegant and sophisticated scent, which goes some way to explaining its popularity but you don’t have to shell out over 50 quid to feel expensive as Zara’s Golden Decade is seriously similar.

On the more affordable end of the spectrum, we’ve got Zara’s Golden Decade. This has such similar notes to YSL’s Libre, it’s not hard to see why the two have been routinely compared. If you’re wondering whether to invest in YSL, this is a good first step. If you love it, then you can invest in the real deal but I have a sneaking suspicion that after wearing Golden Decade for a few weeks, you won’t even want to.

Is Zara’s Golden Decade worth it?
As an avid fan of Zara’s perfumes, I can guarantee you that it is worth it. This is one of the best designer perfume dupes I’ve personally come across, making it absolutely worth its £12.99 price tag. If you need to try before you buy, which I always recommend, visit a Zara store and test it out. While it’s not expensive, you can’t order the perfume online, try it out then return it. Zara won’t accept returns on perfume that isn’t sent back in its original packaging, so be careful! Read more about Zara’s returns.
