Kim Kardashian West’s shapewear brand Skims has been making waves in the fashion industry since it launched in 2018.

Its next step? A collaboration with Italian fashion house Fendi, which arrived in November.

Rumours first started swirling about Fendi x Skims when a UK-based personal shopper @connie_personal_shopping shared a series of photos of mini and midi body-con dresses, a crop top, and a pencil skirt with an embossed logo of the two fashion brands on Instagram stories.

It dropped in November, when every piece from the collection was finally revealed for the first time.

It’s safe to say it didn’t disappoint, reportedly raking in an eye-watering $1million in just one minute.

Some of the collection is still available to buy, but other pieces sold out almost instantly.

How did the Skims and Fendi collaboration come about?

Kim Kardashian West and Fendi’s creative director Kim Jones have been friends for a while now, and the reality star has often shown support to the Dior Homme director – not only at his shows but also on social media. So it’s not a huge surprise that they’re collaborating.

There’s also the fact that Kim Jones has a penchant for collaborations. While at Louis Vuitton, he teamed up with Supreme, while at Dior he worked with a variety of brands, including Kaws, Peter Doig and Daniel Arsham.

He’s also launched the first collaboration for Fendi since taking its helm. Fendace – a ‘creative swap with Versace’ – was showcased at the Milan Fashion Week this year.

How much does Fendi x Skims cost?

As expected, Fendi x Skims isn’t cheap.

A bralette will set you back £95, bodysuits start at £115, leggings are around £895 and trousers come in at £695.

The most expensive items include a puffer jacket for £2,550 and a leather wrap dress for £1,190.

What sizes does Fendi x Skims come in?

Sizes range from XXS (UK size 0-2) to XXXXL (UK size 30-32), but some sizes are now sold out.

It’s great to see a truly size inclusive designer collaboration, which is still rare.

Kim Jones has praised Kardashian’s passion for size inclusivity, as well as his own brand.

“Fendi is about creating something for every woman, every different shape – and that’s something at the heart of SKIMS too,” he said.
