It might not be a collab with a high-end designer, but the high street brand’s Studio collections never fail to inspire.

This time around, we’re seeing the brand blur the lines between reality and fantasy, with gravity-defying fabrics and cutting-edge accessories combined with streamlined silhouettes. The collection offers a futuristic take on minimalism.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor at H&M commented: “How to dress for the future? That was the question the H&M Studio team was asking for autumn, as we discussed mankind’s inspiring missions to space.

“We came up with sharp, minimalist silhouettes that feel confidence-boosting thanks to bold, brave shots of colour – we wanted our customers to dare to dream.”

This collection is not for the fainthearted as these colours pack a punch; think neon green and bright pink, but if you prefer black or muted tones, there’s something for you too.

The campaign stars the multitalented and supremely stylish dynamic sibling duo, Joel and Georgia Palmer. The London based duo work across the worlds of fashion, music and the arts.

In keeping with H&M’s sustainability goals, every item in the collection is made from more sustainably sourced materials including Tencel™, recycled polyester, recycled wool and recycled brass.

What to expect from H&M Studio’s AW Collection Neo Real

Expect to find oversized suits, bold two pieces, and sequins and ruffles galore, all in a bold colour palette combined with shiny materials. It’s truly a feast for the eyes.

The collection is fun, ambiguous, contemporary and completely gender fluid.

Our favourite pieces would have to be the oversized suits. The flared trousers give us serious Studio 54 vibes. We can’t wait to get our hands on the collection.

Concept designer for H&M Studio, Linda Wikell noted: “With a moodboard filled with images of space, the design team thought about what to take on an intergalactic trip. We decided on a mix of practical pieces mixed with fabulous items.

“The silver co-ordinating set is my favourite look, but I’d wear the silver trousers with the padded grey T-shirt and the rhinestone necklace – it’s the perfect alternative to a party dress.”

The H&M Studio AW22 collection is available online at hm.com and in stores from October 13.

Similarly to previous studio collections, the prices for the AW H&M Studio collection are of course higher than the regular H&M collections.

The collection prices start at £24.99 for underwear and go up to £399 for a pair of brown platform sequin boots, ticking off a few of the biggest boot trends of the year.
