How to Measure Your UK Ring Size at Home
Easy, peasy.
So you’ve fallen in love with a ring you’ve found online but you don’t know your size? If you haven’t got a ring sizer to hand, there are a few simple and easy ways to measure yourself at home. Whether you’re buying a ring for yourself or a loved one, risking it and simply guessing the ring size is a serious no no. Trust me, I’ve been there and it always ends up with me getting a ring that doesn’t fit. The best thing you can do is practise patience and order a ring sizer to measure your (or your loved one’s) size perfectly, but if you don’t have the time, there are a couple of easy ways to do it without one.
In fact, there’s a handy app you can use to measure your size and this is especially handy if you want to keep the fact you’re doing so a secret from somebody. Nothing spoils a proposal like asking, ‘What’s your ring size?’ But luckily you don’t have to. Below, you’ll find our guide to how to measure your UK ring size at home.

Tips for the perfect fit
To make sure the ring fits correctly, I advise making sure the paper ring you’ve made slides comfortably on and off. It’s better to size up than to size down, which brings me onto my next tip: make sure you don’t measure your ring size with cold fingers. This is when your fingers are at their smallest, while when they’re super warm your finger expands. The best time to measure your size is at the end of the day, when your fingers are at their largest.

Method 2: The ring sizer app
If the above sounds a little bit too complicated, try using a ring sizing app like Ring Sizer by Jason Withers. The app allows you to measure a ring you already own by simply putting it on your phone screen and adjusting the circle in the app. You can then simply press ‘Show the ring size’ and you’ll be given your ring size in inches, millimetres, as well as your US, UK, Japanese and Bulgarian sizes.

You can also measure the size of your finger, but it may be a little more difficult to get an accurate reading. It works on a similar premise; simply put the finger you want to measure on the screen and adjust the width until it matches the size of your finger. Then you’ll be told your ring size.
Method 3: Use a ring sizer
The most accurate way to measure your ring size is with a ring sizer, which you can get for a complete bargain on Amazon. These go over your finger and are adjusted until they fit your finger perfectly. They show you your exact ring size, and then you can order your ring without fear of getting the wrong size.
