Sezane Sizing Review 2025 Does Sezane Run Small or True to Size?

Get the right fit the first time.

Wondering whether Sézane runs small, large or true to size? I’ve been wearing the brand for over a year and work with them as an influencer, so I’ve tried my fair share of their pieces — and I have thoughts.

Sézane is known for its effortlessly chic, Parisian style, but what really sets them apart is their commitment to sustainability and giving back. They’re B Corp certified, female-founded, and they support important causes like the Young Women’s Trust and the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

But if you’re shopping for the first time, you might be wondering — how does Sézane sizing actually work? French sizing is different to UK sizing, and their aesthetic can make you assume the clothes are made for petite frames. In this guide, I’ll break down my honest experience with Sézane’s sizing across knitwear, trousers, dresses, coats, and more — with photos and personal tips. Next, read more about Sezane’s Archive sales and the best Sezane knitwear.

Does Sezane’s sizing come up small? My honest thoughts

Overall, I’ve found that Sézane’s sizing is a bit inconsistent depending on the category.

  • Knitwear: Most of their cardigans and jumpers run big. The Gaspard cardigan, for example, is very roomy — I recommend sizing down if you want a neater fit.
  • Tops Blouses: These can be slightly oversized, especially on smaller frames or if you’re smaller-busted like me. If you have broad shoulders or a larger bust, your usual size should work well.
  • Trousers Jeans: In my experience, their jeans and trousers can be a little bit inconsistent. I own a few pairs of jeans, and they fit like a glove in my usual size. However I had to size up in the Martin gingham trousers. Go figure!
  • Dresses: True to size, but often cut a little longer than average, which is worth noting if you’re petite.
  • Outerwear: Sézane’s coats and jackets tend to come up large. For an oversized fit, stick to your normal size; if you prefer a tailored look, size down.

Do Sezane coats run big or small?

Coats, jackets, and even heavier jumpers are cut generously. This can be ideal if you want to layer — especially with winter pieces — but worth keeping in mind if you’re looking for something more tailored. I often size down in these styles unless I want that relaxed, oversized silhouette.

What Size Do Sézane Models Wear?

Sézane doesn’t usually share what size their models are wearing, but they do provide garment measurements (like length) in the product description. This can be super useful if you’re in between sizes or shopping for your height.

Sustainability at Sézane (Updated)

Sézane isn’t just about beautiful clothes — they’re genuinely committed to doing better. They release four seasonal collections per year and focus on thoughtful production using eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, LENZING™ ECOVERO™, and recycled wool. They also:

  • Use 100% renewable energy in all locations
  • Send orders in recycled packaging
  • Are B Corp certified (which not many fashion brands can say!)

And importantly, they also support women-led initiatives and donate regularly to charities through their UK sales.

Sezane size guide

Their size guide is located in the description of each item under “SIZE – SIZE GUIDE.” There, you’ll find their size chart along with a helpful guide on taking measurements of your body.

The chart, seen below, converts European sizes 34 – 46 to international sizing, which should offer some clarity. Many brands use European sizing too, so it’s worth taking note of what size you are if you shop anywhere else that has European sizing.

Top Tips for Shopping at Sézane

  • Check garment measurements: Especially length, as dresses and trousers can run long.
  • Size down for knitwear and coats: Unless you’re after a slouchy look.
  • Visit a store if you can: Trying on pieces can help avoid size-related returns.
  • Use the wishlist tool: Save your favourites and track restocks if your size is sold out.

Final Thoughts

Sézane remains one of my favourite brands — not just for their undeniably chic collections, but because they actually care about sustainability and giving back. Their sizing isn’t perfect across the board, but once you know what to expect (especially with knits and coats), it becomes much easier to shop with confidence.
