This autumn, the Replica Shoes ’s Hong Kong Fine Chinese Paintings auction will offer more than 200 works of modern painting and calligraphy. Zhang Daqian’s significant blue-green masterpiece Quiet Autumn on a Sichuan River, painted from an unusual aerial perspective just before the master left China, depicts an expansive vista that makes the landscape feel so near yet so far away.
