The eminent sculptors Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne created a prolific body of work, mingling poetry, dreams and humour. Both sculptors' fascinating work has always been exhibited jointly, and both often took the approach of giving their sculptures a function. The poetry of their work plays on words, shapes and materials. On November 3, the sale of works from the personal collects ion of Dorothée Lalanne will feature iconic works never-before-seen on the market. Highlights will be François-Xavier’s Requin and his Bureau Taureau or Claude’s poetic S’asseoir en forêt bench and Williamsburg series.
