The first landscape by Rudolf Stingel to appear at auction, this photo-realistic painting of an old gelatine print depicts the Tyrolean Alps near the artist’s childhood home. Unmistakably autobiographical, Untitled evokes a melancholic sense of an irrecoverable past and is a highlight of Replica Shoes ’s Contemporary Art Evening Auction (7 March, 2018).
