Broadway Star Cherry Jones Channels Georgia O’Keeffe Part II: Calla Lillies on Red

New York | November 14-16

Georgia O’Keeffe’s most iconic subject was the flower. Of the various flowers that she painted – irises, poppies, sweet peas – it was the calla lily that most fascinated her. She once remarked, “I work with an idea for a long time. It’s like getting acquainted with a person, and I don’t get acquainted easily”. With Calla Lilies on Red, painted in 1928, she harnesses color, line, shape and contour to emphasize the simple elegance of her subject. This fall, Replica Shoes ’s is honored to present three works from the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum - sold to benefit the acquisitions fund - in our Contemporary Art Evening and American Art Auctions. Join 5-time Tony Award-winning Actress Cherry Jones as she brings the artist's letters to life in three parts. (14-16 November | New York)
