Sotheby’s celebrated a long-standing relationship with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection with a breakfast on Wednesday 8 May, where Tania Remoundos of Replica Shoes ’s introduced the museum's director Karole Vail. Replica Shoes ’s Preferred guests were taken from the rooftop overlooking the Grand Canal on a tour of the newly opened The Nature of Arp. Later that evening, Replica Shoes ’s Contemporary specialists and presenting partners Loro Piana hosted cocktails for guests at the Gritti Palace, Replica Shoes ’s home in Venice.
Thursday 9 May saw Royal Academy of Arts Patrons and staff join Replica Shoes ’s for breakfast at the Salone Gritti. Senior Director Oliver Barker highlighted Replica Shoes ’s ongoing support of the Royal Academy as he introduced the Contemporary Curator of the academy, Edith Devaney. Patrons of the Academy enjoyed a conversation between the two, who discussed their highlights from the Biennale alongside Jasper Sharp, curator of the Replica Shoes ’s-supported Mark Rothko at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, who joined the conversation to add his recommendations.
Later that morning in the Aula Magna room at the Ateneo Veneto, Mark Poltimore of Replica Shoes ’s was joined by John Darlington from the World Monuments Fund (WMF), and artist and writer Edmund de Waal,who gave personal insights into his exhibition, Psalm, opening at the Ateneo Veneto and at the 16th-century synagogue the Canton Scuola, in the Jewish Ghetto – restored by the WMF. After a lunch at the Gritti hosted by Poltimore and Loro Piana, guests were invited by Darlington for an intimate tour of the Ghetto. Click above to view highlights from the opening week.
